2008 Fall Tournament
Posted on 09/09/08 Tournament schedule has been posted. Click the link on the left side for details.
To note: for Hamm Division - I have only scheduled teams to provide 1 ref per game - one to back judge, 1 to line judge. For Westgate division - you will only have 1 game to do, but you need 2 refs to provide ( back and 1 side).
Dave Smelow will be scheduling head refs....however he needs help for this, so if he calls please help, otherwise there will be only 2 refs to do a game. If some of your players want to head ref more games, let Dave know - We will be paying head refs as usual, and I will pay on Sunday.
There are only 7 teams entered which messes up the odd team division. There will be 2 divisions - 1 with 3 teams, 1 with 4 teams - both will be round robin per division - I have selected teams out of a hat for the divisions. Playoffs will happen on Sunday like last year.
There will be prize payouts for 6 teams - A,B,C for winners and runners-up. The 7th place team will receive Molsons prizes.
Please lets keep this a fun weekend, with good sportsmanship and co-operation with refs.
We will wrap up on Sunday at Boston Pizza after the A final.
Thanks
Gary
Notes so far
Posted on 08/18/08 1- Guys, I will be getting more captain armbands for each team to keep.... please dont lose them.
The captains are the only ones allowed to talk to refs. We must enforce this as lots of yapping at refs will not be tolerated...refs will give penalties.
2 - If your team needs ref equipment, please let me know, I have extra bean bags for markers and whistles and flags. I even have 2 ref jerseys. If your team is required to head ref and you dont have equipment, please advise.
3 - Also, all teams should tell all players about the harsh penalties for not providing refs.....all players need to be involved in side reffing, head reffing or back judging.
4 - I have a spare set of jerseys ( gray) for use if there is a duplicate colour of jersey for teams playing each other. These jerseys are available at the golf dome, in the touch football locker, please ask the desk staff for the key. (They have been cleaned).
Although most teams have separate colour jerseys, I am not sure what Twinn Engines jersey is, and there may be a conflict between the Sharks and Tony and Adams.
Thanks
Gary

Finals and Year End Wrap Up
Posted on 04/14/08 Email from Gary:
Guys, the finals are set for Wed.
A side - Sharks vs Bulldogs
B side - Ringers vs Steam
AFter the games, I will be doing the trophy presentations to the winning teams( approx 10:00 pm). However, I invite every team to come out and watch the finals and/or hockey playoffs at the Dome. I have arranged for food and beverages ( the league will pay for 1 round) for teams who come out and I will be having door prizes of NFL merchandise ..I will also be paying teams for their ref bond of $100 to every team. PLus I will be paying teams their head ref money - I will not make out to each individual ref, i will only make the cheque out to the team rep and he can pay the player(s) who did the reffing.
I want to thank each team for a very successful indoor season.
Thanks
Gary

Playoff Information
Posted on 03/24/08 The following is an email from Gary:
I will have the playoff schedule set for next Thursday after I get Weds results - please call them in early to Dan so the stats are updated. i am traveling out of town this week so I need the website to be set so I can properly seed.
For the playoffs we will have 2 divisions - top 6 and bottom 6. First and 2nd place each division get a bye into the semis.
Now for the bad news, the golf dome is booked for the home show April 2 and 6, so after the first week of March 30, we will have to wait 2 weeks (April 13) to continue.
Also, that is the last Sunday we can use for playoffs
so the finals are being booked for Wed April 16th. The golf dome is fully booked on Sundays.
In addition, to help out for the playoffs, I am asking each team to supply 1 additional ref to your head/back ref. That is for a side judge. So if you play at 8:30, you will supply a head or back ref and 1 side judge for the 7:00 pm game.
If you have any questions, please email back.
